Experiencing History During Our Snow Day

Today Former Pres. Bush and Mrs. Bush gracefully left the Whitehouse as President Obama was sworn into office. I had planned to DVR the event for our boys so they would be able to see this historic event, but as weather would have it, the boys had a snow day so they were able to watch it LIVE! I remember myself being home for a snow day when the late Pres. Regan was sworn into office and I still remember the experience today. As a family, we believe that it is important to support and pray for your leaders whether they share your personal views or not and for that reason we gathered around the TV to watch the 44th President take his place in history. We then asked the boys to draw a picture and write a sentence about their favorite part of the inauguration. C's favorite part was when "Executive One" took Former Pres. Bush and Mrs. Bush to Andrews AFB. J's favorite part was when President Obama made his speech to the "people" as he put it. I hope and pray it will be an event they will be able to look back and tell their kids they remember watching with their parents when they were little.
